I decided to watch my DVD of Gattaca while I blogged tonight. The movie is amazing and thought provoking, and I encourage all of you to see it.
In checking out the deleted scenes I stumbled across a Coda that was absolutely stunning. It was the only one of the deleted scenes that I thought should have been left in the movie. The rest were good, but wouldn't have added that much to it. It's really an amazing warning on where we're headed as a society. There are already tests for a number of genetic "problems" that can be done before a child is born. How much longer until other things can be tested for, or selected. Quite honestly, it scares me.
