New Shows

Now I'm watching a tape of a CSI: Miami episode. I'm a huge fan of the original so I'm giving the spin-off some time before I decide if I want to continue watching it. My one problem so far... if feels like they took the original character bible and just changed the names. The main character, Horatio, reacts the same way as the main character on CSI, Gil. His speech patterns are remarkably similar (I'm assuming same writers?). He even uses similar (or identical) one-liners. Maybe they'll diferentiate more in coming weeks. I sure hope they do because it's really starting to annoy me.

OK, question for any Floridians out there. Are there really old Cuban guys sitting around in white hats, smoking cigars, listening to salsa, and playing cards in Miami? Or is that just a plot device? Every time there's a show involving a Cuban and the cops go to visit the family its the same scene. What's up with that?
