Warning: nasty woman issues post ahead. If you don't want to think/read about it, don't click the "more" button.
My normal periods (I use the term "normal" loosely) are 4 to 5 weeks apart, but I'm very irregular so that changes quite a bit. I usually just kinda trickle for a week and then I'm done. A good pad can last me all day pretty easily.
I thought I had my period about a week and a half ago. I leaked for a few days and then it stopped. Pretty normal for me. Then yesterday HELLO! My body just started gushing blood. I was changing tampons (Supers) every 2 to 3 hours and huge clots came out with the tampons when I changed them. Today I've barely been making it an hour before having to change tampons. I had to go two hours this afternoon because I was working (it's hard to go to the bathroom to deal with stuff in the middle of a newscast!) and the tampon and large pad I was wearing were both soaked through.
About 45 minutes after changing I can start to feel myself leaking. It SUCKS!!!! There is no way that this is normal.

I feel so bad for you. That's what *all* of my periods are like and I still have days when I need to collapse in bed and have someone take care of me. Going through it for the first time must have been terribly frightening. Girl issues SUCK, SUCK, SUCK.
