My boy Z has a great post up about the insanity surrounding this whole Dixie Chicks thing. I agree with him 100%, and I have the same confusion.
Yes, they had the right to say what they said. But guess what? I have the right to say I disagree! That's the way it works. Just because you're a celebrity doesn't mean that people can't criticize you. We all have freedom of speech. They can say what they want, and so can I!
It bothers me how much the media has made of the various celebrities being "punished" for their speech. They haven't been punished! Other people have just exercised their freedom of speech too.

Amen, sister. Exactly how I feel about old Tim and Susan. Though the Chicks haven't pissed me off enough to make listening to their music painful -- yet. And I loved the way the rest of the country music industry reemed them. Unlike Hollywood & the Peace Sign Duo.
