What do we think of Benjamin Bluebeard? Or Benjamin Bluebunny? That sounds a little too much like the ice cream I think. I kinda like bluebeard. 'Cuz he's blue!

My girl Syn has joined the ranks of the photoblogs!
She's already documented the first snow of the year. It's so pretty...
Until my very first solo show!!!!!
The schedules for next week just got posted and I'm doing the 5:30 and the 11 next Monday all by myself! Sa-weet!
Granted, Extra R's is TDing the 11. But still... I'll be doing all the directing stuff by my lonesome. Woot!
I just got off the phone with Northwest to ask questions about flying w/pets. Northwest will allow two animals in the cabin if they're small! WooHoo! That solves soooo many problems. Now I don't have to worry about how to get both of the fids out here. They can both come at the same time, the same way. Horrah! This takes such a load off of my shoulders.
And the movers actually showed up at old apartment today. Syn is taking care of stuff on that end, for which I am so incredibly thankful! So hopefully my stuff should be here within a few days, and then the fids will be coming out with my mom when she comes to visit in another week or so. Yippee!
I'm sure you've all seen it, but is this hp commercial not exactly right for photobloggers?
I know that's how I go through my day. Constantly seeing pictures everywhere. And taking them too!
After only about 2 hours of sleep last night, an insanely long day, lots of crying, and even a visit from the cops... my stuff is all here!
And before you ask, I'm the one that called the cops. MAJOR problems with the moving company. You know those moving scams that you hear about on 20/20 and Dateline and 60 Minutes? Where they say they won't deliver your stuff unless you pay them more? Yeah. That.
The company told me that it was going to cost 690 some dollars more than the amount I had agreed to pay. When I argued they said that they'd deliver half of my stuff, but the other half would go into storage or something until I paid the extra 600 something that they wanted. More arguing, more crying, and the "boss" who I'd only talked to on the phone today (even though he kept insisting that he told me stuff earlier and I agreed with it) then decided that if I gave the driver $300 cash they'd deliver the rest of my stuff today. That doesn't sound fishy or anything does it?
Somewhere about that time I ended up calling the cops just to ask them what they thought I should do. I knew I was getting scamed and needed some help. So a cop shows up! He said that technically he couldn't do anything because it was a "civil matter" but he tried to mediate somewhat. And he yelled at the dude on the phone which was lovely :) He was very nice and even though he couldn't do much beyond yell at them I'm glad that I called. It made me feel better to have him agree with my position and back me up.
At this point I got really scared that if I didn't pay them the extra that they wanted today I'd never see my stuff again. They'd only really unloaded my crappy furniture at this point, none of my good furniture and none of the boxes that had valuable/sentimental stuff in them. So with some parental help (gotta love Western Union) I gave them the extra $300 (which at this point they decided would be $400 instead) so actually an extra $400 and they unloaded all of my stuff.
So that's my day!
[sarcasm]Such fun.[ /sarcasm]
On to positive stuff now!
My mom has a flight booked to come visit me in a little under two weeks. And she'll be bringing the fids! Horrah! My little flock will be back together again. Of course seeing my mommy will be wonderful too. :)
So now I have to try and go to sleep. Hopefully I'll actually be able to, but I'm not feeling too optimistic. I kinda have that insomnia feeling right now. So frustrating!
Well, I'm off to work. I'm doing my first two completely solo shows tonight. 5:30 & 11. Wish me luck!
At the moment I need to corral a very hyper bunny. Mr. Benjamin is running all over my bed (ok the futon) doing spins and jumping all over the place. In all the bunny books I've read that's supposed to mean he's happy. So yay! I have a happy bunny!
Well, my scripts are marked and I've been through them three times. I'm only missing times for one package. Producer Boy is good about updating stuff so I'm not worried.
I'm a little nervous, but not too bad. I think I'd be more worried if I wasn't nervous. I'm just sitting around waiting for another 15 minutes and then away we go!
Wish me luck
*I picked that smilie because that's what directing is... juggling!
I have to wait until the "devo" meeting to see if the ND had any issues with anything, but the producer and I both think it was a clean show. Woot!!!
There is a huge fire going about a mile from my house! The wind has been crazy yesterday & today, something up around 30-40 mph which is making the firefighter's jobs a lot harder! It looks like they're finally starting to get it under control after more than 4 hours. It started in an abandoned mill that's been there since the Revolutionary War. A number of houses nearby went up too.
I drove over there to see if I could see anything. Mostly just a lot of smoke! They wouldn't let anyone get close enough to see flames. I'm going to go through my pictures and see if I got anything good though.
My mom and the Fids have all arrived safely. We put their cages together quickly and then I skedadled to work. They were very glad to be out of their carrier! I'm so very glad to have them here with me. I've missed them!
And of course having my mom here is wonderful too. I've missed getting hugs regularly! Mom & I will be quite busy the next few days trying to put my apartment together. It's something of a mess right now! (can't imagine why) She's here until Wednesday morning, so hopefully we'll have some time to do something fun too.
Oh, none of my fire pictures from last night really turned out. Lots of grainy bluriness. I'm going to try to get over there during the day in the next couple days and at least take some pictures of the burnt remains. The video I've seen is quite impressive, I'm hoping I can get close enough to get something. As of 4ish this afternoon they were still pouring water on it. It wasn't really burning anymore though. I think they were just taking care of some hot spots. But still! That's more than 24 hours after the thing started and it was still going to some extent. Incredible.
Well, Mom & I have spent the last couple days putting my apartment in order. Everything is done except for my books. But I can do that by myself after she leaves so we're going to go have some fun today! We're thinking we're going to go down to Newport and see the ocean. I found a cache that's in a park right on the ocean so I'm gonna drag my mom geocaching with me :) She's never gone before so that should be fun. And who knows what we'll do with the rest of the day!
There's some people that live nearby that are friends of my big sister Gail (the one who drove out here with me) we'll probably stop in and meet them at some point.
It should be a fun day and I'm sure I'll have lots of pretty pictures to share when I get back because it is gorgeous out there today! Very sunny and all blue.
Atwood Animal Hospital (AAV member) exotics? rabbits? emergency?
That's just a note to myself. I'm trying to find a vet out here that I can take the fids and the bunny to. That'd just be a heck of a lot easier. So anyone have any recomendations for RI or Eastern MASS vets?
I just found out that Andrea Bocelli is going to be in Providence on Sunday and I can't go see him because I have to work! Drat and a giant Piffle Fribbits for good measure!
Yesterday I wore a pair of shoes (they kinda look like boots) that I haven't worn for quite a while. I just discovered that I can do toe stands in them. Nifty!
And in unrelated news... if I never get another spam comment it'll be too soon! What is with them lately? I know I haven't gotten slammed as badly as some people have, but I'm deleting at least 2 or 3 of them every day. It was so sporadic for quite a while that I hadn't bothered installing something like MTBlacklist because I didn't mind deleting a comment once every couple weeks. But this is getting out of hand. I'm going to have to look into it. Is anyone running a good (read=easy to install) plug-in that they'd care to recommend?
I can't believe it's going to be Thanksgiving tomorrow. And I'm not going to be at home with my family. That's just so strange. And seeing the Christmas tree lots is makes me homesick. I'm not going to be able to do all the Christmas stuff this year. No going and picking a tree and cutting it down, making cookies, setting up the creche, decorating the tree. I'm really not liking that.
I know this was the right decision, but the next month or two is going to be hard.
There was a new 26 Things list posted for November, and I missed it! Granted I haven't been doing much blog reading lately, but still! You'd think I would have noticed that.
I guess I'll just have to be extra creative and get it all done in the next couple days to make the Dec. 1st deadline.
