So why don't we hear about this stuff without digging for it? Because it doesn't get viewers. People don't watch the news or buy a newspaper to hear happy, fuzzy stories. For whatever reason people like to hear about the bad news. So that's what gets published. That's what airs.
And if you see a newscast or a newspaper full of death and destruction every day, you start to think that that's normal. That it happens all the time and everywhere. You forget that good things can happen too.
And they do happen! You just have to look a little harder.
