I'm not sure what the deal is...

I'm getting random server errors whenever I save something. The entry still saves, but it doesn't rebuild the index page. But if I manually rebuild the index page it shows up. I've checked my server error logs and it says that there's been a "premature end of script headers" on my mt.cgi file. Never had that happen before. No idea what the deal is. I've always been so happy with my host, but there's been a lot of quirky weirdness lately that's making me think about maybe switching to a different host.

I'm confused!

And Syn... I've set up a "test" blog for you under my site for us to monkey with so whenever we figure out what the deal is we can wipe your's and start from scratch. Also... thinking about moving everything over to Hosting Matters 'cuz I know a BUNCH of people that use them and are very happy.

UPDATE: Of course when I saved this entry just now everything worked exactly the way it ought. Very odd.

OK, I lose track of time WAY too fast when I'm being geeky.

Syn... I'm making progress on your style sheet and such fun stuff. Feel free to mess away if you want (oh, and that error seems to be a hickup of some sort, doesn't affect anything, I got it a couple times too but not all the time. Weird I know.)

Huahh the Froggy Travel Bug! Who has made an appearance after nearly two years. And he showed up in Alaska of all places!

Hey folks... I'm in the process of switching to a new web host so if things get wonky around here, that'd be why! Hopefully we should be up and running again soon!

As you can see, it's a bit of a mess around here. I seem to have successfully moved to a new host, but all my backup files are at home so it'll be pretty barren until I get home from work tonight.

Maybe I'll do a little bit of redesigning while I'm at it. I've had the same look pretty much since I started blogging three years ago, it might just be time to change things up a bit.

I just randomly picked this purply-blue color off a hex color chart, but I think I kinda like this shades of the same color thing.

I may or may not bring back the fingerspelling. Or maybe it'll be back, just different. But for the moment I think I'm gonna stick with this blurple thing I've got going on.

And Syn... now that I know what I'm doing... you're next! Bwahahahahaha!

With all my geeking out I haven't really posted anything the last few days.

For anyone keeping track at home... I've also managed to get the other place moved and plugged in. But nothing template-wise has happened yet and I haven't posted anything over there in ages anyway so there really isn't anything to see. At this point, I think I mostly just need to stick the smilie pallette code back in the comment form and then everything will be all hunky-dory.

And tomorrow I'm "training" the new guy on TD'ing which means I get to sit on my butt all day 'cuz he really doesn't need any help. So I should have lots of time to futz and blog-read (which I haven't done very much of lately... bad blogger!)

So that's what's going on around here. How're all of you?

Lair went and compared apples to oranges. Which, for whatever reason, I find hilarious. One of the criteria was how difficult it is to make the into a pie. So being the dork that I am, I had to see if orange pie recipies exist...

They do! Most of them seem to include orange juice concentrate, but I found this one that uses mandarin oranges.

So I've managed to get the smilie palette to show up again, but when I click on one of them, nothing happens. I know exactly what the problem is, but I don't know how to fix it.

I need to know the name of the field in the comment form where the comment shows up. But for whatever reason this bit of information isn't obvious. Ack! I will beat you, you silly comment form you!

The whole thing is up at the photoblog. But in short, my sweet little Tali is no longer with us.

So I'm tired (working the morning show ) and I'm missing my furbaby, and there's drama with one of the fids... But I'm feeling the need to do something somewhat normal, so I'm gonna post something horribly mundane.

Today after the noon, I am going to Target to buy a new vacuum. I was trying to clean Monday... hey, stop laughing, I clean sometimes! And my vacuum just refused to pick up anything. I dissasembled the thing twice to make sure it was working properly; it was, just not very well! I felt like I was brushing the carpet instead of vacuuming it. So I have received permission from my personal accountant (Hi Mom ) to move some money from my savings account to my spending account with which to purchase a new vacuum.

Heh, I can't believe I have a savings account. With enough money in it to buy a vacuum!

I'm also thinking about taking a page out of Lair's book and doing the Blogathon in memory of Tali for a local bunny rescue. I know it's only a week and a half until then, (the blogathon is on August 6th for anyone that's interested) but I could raise at least a little bit of money between now and then right? I think it might feel good to let something good happen because of this nastiness.

So here's the deal.

I am going to participate in the Blogathon and raise money for Sweet Binks Rabbit Rescue in memory of Tali.

So what is a "blogathon"?

Well, it's like any other "athon", a jog-a-thon, or dance-a-thon, or walk-a-thon, or skate-a-thon, or... you get the idea. Bunches of people blog for 24 hours straight starting at 9am EST on August 6th. Bunches of other people pledge support if the blogger is successfull.

So if you'd like to help raise money for some wonderful buns head over to the Blogathon site and sign up to sponser me! And then on the 6th you can come harrass me here while I try to post something every half hour for 24 hours. I think the hardest part might be being awake by 9am!

I'm kinda in the mood for something mindless and fun.

I think I'll go to a movie!

I know it's my own stupid fault, but I am not having a good night.

I went to my movie (Fantastic Four, it was decent, mindless fun, which is what I was after) and I'm on my way home. Turns out I have a burned out headlight, so a cop pulls me over. Guess who's never gotten around to getting a RI license for her car?

That'd be me. The one who is now waiting for a taxi at the fraking police station because they towed my car.

So I guess I'm going to be renting a car for the weekend and then dealing with this on Monday when the stupid DMV is open.

I know, it's my own stupid fault. But it still SUCKS!!!!

OK, so we were talking about card games at work.

This one guy remembered playing something like pinochle with his "Uncle Mikey" when he was little. It was called "cockroach." He doesn't remember how it was played or what the rules were.

A quick google search later and... google doesn't seem to know what it is either.

Anybody heard of it?
