Mathmatical Beauty

I was reading some of the posts on the TWoP Numbers forum and stumbled across a link to this lady. Some of her sculptures decorate the offices of one of the main characters on the show.

Go poke around on her site. She has these pieces of art that are very mathmatical, and incredibly gorgeous at the same time. Added bonus? There's a large number of them that are downright affordable!

I'm blown away.

Serendipity

A very, very good friend from when I was little just called and is on his way to EC (from the airport I'm assuming). We haven't seen each other for a couple years. How strange that we both end up here at the same time.

I'm sure we will talk into the wee hours just like we used to!

Merry Christmas!

Yes, I realize it isn't actually (ding!) Christmas yet. However, we're doing the big family Christmas thing today since I'm leaving on Wednesday and won't be here for the real day. We'll be doing the little family Christmas thing tomorrow.

I'm a little annoyed that none of the presents I had ordered and sent here have shown up as of yet. Very irritating that! Oh well, I'm here and I'm enjoying seeing everybody and that's the important thing.

And! Miss Syn graduated yesterday! Very cool! There was massive partying until all hours with their family friends and people from work. Much fun was had by all. I transfered my pictures off of my camera last night (ok, technically it was this morning) and I took nearly 300 pictures yesterday! Granted, a lot of them weren't very good. But some of them seem to have turned out quite well, and there's a good number more that will be salvagable once I get them into PS.

At any rate... I think today and tomorrow are going to be family days, and Tuesday will be the SunSynergy Productions Geocaching Extravaganza! And then I have to go back to RI on Wednesday. I do miss my criters when I'm here, and I do like my job quite a lot. But it's just so nice to be home! Oh well.

A Thought

Seeing the whole (well part of) the gigantic Harding clan tonight made me think.

I have no idea if other family members would be at all interested in this, but I thought I'd put it out there...

I was thinking about the possibility of a family website. Could be something like an announcements/happenings/photo album/whatever we want kind of thing. It would be quite easy for me to set something up that we could all access (password protected or not, whichever) and read, comment, post pictures, contribute, whatever. I could even do subdomains for anyone (or a branch of the family?) that wants one.

Anyway, just something I started thinking about tonight and figured I'd put it out there. Y'all let me know what you think ok? Even if it's something you think you'd maybe visit even if you didn't contribute anything yourself. Mostly I'm just wondering if anyone would be at all interested. I'd be more than willing to do all the grunt work for it so it'd be easy for anyone else that wanted to participate.

Strange Behavior

The Moblog is acting weird. The last two posts have both done this and it's strange and I don't know what's up. For some reason the last two pictures I've e-mailed to the moblog have posted 29 or 30 times! It's very weird. I go in to check if there's new comments or anything and there's 30 of the same picture/post staring at me! I have no idea why it's doing that. Everything from three posts ago on back is perfectly fine.

It's just such a random thing to go wrong!

In other unfortunate news... my mp3 player has broken. I dropped it earlier today (but I've done that before and it's been fine) and something must have jarred inside it just exactly wrong. 'Cuz now it won't do anything, the hard drive won't spin up, it just sits there staring at me. Argh!! I love that thing! I don't want to have to buy a new one (well, new to me anyway) and I really don't want to sit on planes and in airports all frelling day tomorrow without any tunes! Grrr!

Detroit

First, three screaming babies spread over four rows? Not Fun!

However, the fountain thing in the middle of the Detroit airport? Very Cool!

Hey Folks

I'm back. I'm home, such as it is. The critters are all safe and sound, the Christmas box arrived unscathed. And now I'm going to go clean up the Moblog! And then I suppose I'll make an attempt at going to bed.

Food... Mmmmmmm..... *Homer drool*

I swear, every time I turn around here there's another plate with cookies, or cake, or candy canes, or some other edible yummy thing.

Practically haven't had to bring dinner in to work the last couple days!

I am Sooooo Buying This Movie!

I was surfing a forum for TV Director types and found a post about a new low budget movie, the DVD of which I will be buying shortly. It's called Missed Cues and it's about a female newscast director who's fighting a "Parkervision" type change. It's also by a female newscast director!

And the DVD is only 12 bucks! Yeah, it's not a beautiful big budget movie, but it looks like fun so I'm heading over there with my debit card now.

Goofy

Ya know, the crew gets really weird when we don't have a 5 or 5:30! We've all been hyper and strange all afternoon. Not that that's all that different than normal, but it is awfully fun!

You Know it's New Year's Eve When...

You've submitted your Dead Pool roster!

If you're a morbid sort, you have until the ball drops in Time Square to make your picks.
