Audio Wonderfulness

Well, it took me a while, but I'm finally getting into this whole podcasting thing.

I've been listening to the Israellycool one for a couple weeks. Been learning all kinds of interesting things about Israel and Israeli politics and Judaism. Quite fascinating stuff!

A few days ago I figured out how to download mp3's from NPR's Wait Wait, Don't Tell Me program. I used to listen to it on Saturday's back home quite frequently. But I haven't had a lot of luck finding a public radio station out here. I had to subscribe to the feed through Yahoo, and it's a little round-a-bout, but I can download it! And listen when I want to!

And tonight I've had two more successes. There was another radio show I listened to sometimes that was only on WPR and I have no chance of finding it on the radio out here. They do make their shows available, but only in RM format. Very irritating. But I found a great webpage that had a list of what to do to convert the silly things. So as I type this I'm converting an episode of To the Best of Our Knowledge!

And this last one I'm really excited about... Michael Card's radio program is now available as a podcast! WOOT!! You have to subscribe to the RSS feed for the podcast, and then the link to the mp3 is in the feed. I'm insanely excited about that one!

Did you EATAPETA?

BBQChickenNachos.jpg

Well, here's my dinner! It's the wonderful BBQ Chicken Nachos from Bugaboo Creek. It's supposedly an appetizer, but I can never finish it and it ends up being two meals.

So why should you care? Well, that was part of my EATAPETA day! The other half was the sandwich I had for lunch. It had honey cured ham and hard salami on it (no idea what animal is in the hard salami, but I'm sure there's something in there!)

Which leads us to... What is EATAPETA? There's tons more information about it at both Lair's and Meryl's sites. The short answer is that PETA is crazy so once a year is International Eat an Animal for PETA Day! Of course you're allowed to eat animals on other days of the year, but on March 15th it gets documented.

The longer answer is that PETA's tactics are so incredibly offensive and we could get upset and yell and scream at them. But they'd probably just yell and scream back. This is more fun and it probably pisses them off more. They also are big time hypocrites. They kill huge amounts of animals that are surrendered to them by people thinking they're doing the right thing when they can no longer care for their pets. They kill adoptable creatures! Companion animals that could easily be placed in loving homes. If they had their way no one would be allowed to own an animal. They're even against seeing-eye dogs! And to top it all off, they support both ELF and ALF which are a terrorist organizations.

So go ahead, eat an animal for PETA!

Geekin' Out

I finally went out and got myself another graphics card to make use of this monitor that's been sitting around my apartment for the last year!

And I am now rocking the dual-monitor setup! Woot!!

And another Woot-worthy thing... Keva-Flava will be here in less than 24 hours!!!! Squeeee!!!!! (think I used enough exclamation marks?)

Tired

Well, in the space of just under two hours we have hauled all of Keva's stuff up to her apartment. Futon, love-seat, all of it. Up a spiral staircase no less!

We rock.

We hurt and don't want to move, but we most definately rock!

Too Early

Work should never be this early. No amount of caffeine is enough.

Playing!

Keva and I are going Geocaching today! Yay!!!

We both have the day off so we get to play and be goofy and have fun and, and, and...

I'm so incredibly excited that we get to hang out whenever we want again!

It's a Good Thing That's not a Super

An actual slug from tonight's rundown: "Jill's Bush Comments"

I have no words.
